About Us

The Good Information Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2021 to address the growing information crisis in America. The spread of misinformation and disinformation is eroding social trust, harming public health, and weakening democratic institutions. The Good Information Foundation exists to reverse that trend and increase informed civic participation across communities who are increasingly being left behind by traditional media sources.

Our mission is to increase the flow of accurate, fact-based information online. We accomplish this by creating, incubating, funding, and elevating solutions that can be rapidly developed, tested, and scaled. We invest in people and programs that strengthen the information ecosystem and expand access to trustworthy information, particularly for communities that are underserved by traditional media. We are proactive and solutions-oriented, and focus our funding on efforts that are combatting the spread of misinformation and disinformation online through the increased distribution of good information.

Our Strategy

We focus our resources on efforts that:

  • Deliver factual, relevant, and locally grounded information to populations living in news deserts or underserved by mainstream media, and who are most vulnerable to misinformation
  • Train and develop the next generation of journalists, content creators, and civic communicators committed to building a healthier, fact-based media ecosystem
  • Provide direct support to mission-aligned organizations and individuals working at the forefront of the information crisis to scale proven approaches that can have a positive impact on increasing informed civic participation
